We’re excited to announce a site visit to the NSW Rail Museum, Thirlmere site.
The NSW Rail Museum houses a priceless collection of rollingstock and rail objects dating back to the first years of railways in NSW. The museum also serves as the operating base for the immaculately restored NSW Heritage Fleet of steam & diesel locomotives that tours the state, and also operates frequent services along a 14km stretch of the original Great Southern Railway (Loop Line).
This visit will include a 40-minute ride aboard 1920’s Railmotor CPH18; a behind-the-scenes tour of the Fleet Workshop where operational items of rollingstock are restored and maintained; a highlights tour of the museum hall, and a briefing on the Loop Line Upgrade Project.
Thanks to Transport Heritage NSW for the opportunity. THNSW is proudly supported by the NSW Government.
